In the article main nitrogen dioxide emissions sources in a big cities was analysed. Shown the temporal dynamics of average annual concentrations of nitrogen dioxide in Kiev city for time period 1985 – 2012, analyzed concentration of this pollutant in different part of the city and frequency of cases of maximum allowable concentration (MAC) exceeding. The highest concentrations of nitrogen dioxide observed in the central part of the city in some months the warm season. The frequency of cases exceeding of MAC in the air usually exceeds 50% and in the warm season 2012 average concentration of NO2 in the air has been very high and frequency of exceeding of MAC reached 100% in almost all monitoring stations.
Studies show that in the warm season in the air of Kyiv regularly observed abnormally high concentrations of nitrogen dioxide, which is a precursor of photochemical smog, and under favorable meteorological conditions will result in the formation of this negative phenomenon in the atmosphere of the city.
In the paper was investigated the modern level and the main trends of air pollution level of formaldehyde in Ukraine cities. Were classified Ukrainian cities by the multiplicity exceeding of the maximum permissible concentration (MPC), the direction and intensity of time changes of concentrations of formaldehyde in the air of cities.

In order to develop the theoretical foundations of the approach to analysis and prediction of anthropogenic impact on atmosphere of industrial city and development of a new scheme of modelling properties of fields of the polluting substances concentrations by means of a chaos theory, we present an analysis of physical aspects for reconstruction of the phase space (air basin) and advanced conception of Lyapunov’s dimensions.
The author develops a comprehensive approach to ranking Odessa region districts by anthropogenic load on their air. Odessa region is zoned as per emissions of air pollutants. Odessa Region districts are ranked to reveal those with the highest air pollution. All results are illustrated as digital maps.
There are analyzed the influence of different kinds of temperature inversions and normal atmosphere stratification on nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide concentrations in Kiev city atmosphere.
A study of air qualities has been done in 11 Siberian cities from Irkutsk (easternmost) to Novosibirsk (westernmost) in winter and summer with a mobile measurement station. It is shown that in winter a modern industrial city is not only a “heat island”, but also a “pollution island”. Admixtures concentration in centers of most cities is much higher than in their periphery. The exception is ozone, which is apparently destroyed by industrial emissions in the center and replenished in the periphery. In summer the local circulation is considerably weakened, and the difference between the parameter values for the center and periphery not always remains.
